The Amira is the docu-style camera by Arri. A minimal set-up time enables the camera to film very quickly, which is convenient when there is no assistant. The built-in NDs, ergonomic build, extensive audio options and the many user buttons make this camera equally as good as a classic ENG camera.
The camera has the same sensor as the Alexa Mini, making both cameras perfectly combinable. The difference is that the Amira has better audio inputs (3x XLR instead of 1x 5-pin Lemo) and it can record AES 4 tracks, but the Amira has a 16:9 sensor so it cannot film Anamorphic.
Both the top handle (to which the EVF is attached) and the shoulder pad are slidable, so you can perfectly balance the Amira. This makes the camera suitable for long recordings, single-operator projects and ENG recordings.
