The SLR Magic Anamorphics are 1.33x which makes them perfect for a 16:9 sensor and therefore can be used with every camera. This means you don't need a camera with a 4:3 sensor to completely utilize the maximum height.

The lenses are real front anamorphics, have a blue flare and bend, but the oval bokeh effect is less than with the 2x anamorphic lenses because of the smaller compression.

They are ideal lenses if your low budget wants an anamorphic look. :)

What these lenses do is fill the 16:9 image with a 1.33 compressed image. Some cameras, like the Varicam LT, have a desqueeze option built in. For other cameras it is wise to use a monitor like the 502/702/703 series which can do this, so please test this beforehand.
